For over 27 years, the old Barnåla has been the setting for unforgettable memories. From December 2024, the new Barnåla will be ready – with the same charm but in an entirely new design!
Our beloved Barnåla, which was moved from Sel in Gudbrandsdalen to Venabygdsfjellet in 1997, has been the venue for countless unforgettable moments over the past 27 years. From weddings and anniversaries to corporate retreats and trips with friends, it has been the backdrop for cherished memories.
After many good years, the cabin began to show its age, and we eventually had to take the big step. The cabin was demolished and rebuilt from the ground up – maintaining its charm but now in a brand-new guise. The new cabin will soon be ready for rental, and we are excited to create new memories for our guests in modern and comfortable surroundings, in the heart of Venabygdsfjellet’s stunning nature.
The new cabin features six spacious family rooms, each with its own bathroom for added comfort. There is a large, social living room with a 9-meter-long table – perfect for enjoying meals and conversations. The living room also includes a large seating area, a fireplace, and a well-equipped kitchen ideal for larger groups. After a day in the mountains, you can relax in the cabin’s own sauna and enjoy the best of Norwegian nature in cozy and inviting surroundings.
The cabin is also well-suited for corporate retreats and can be set up with a conference arrangement if desired. It can be rented in conjunction with our other cabins at Lundegrenda to accommodate additional guests.
We look forward to welcoming you to new experiences and memorable moments in Venabygdsfjellet!
Welcome to Venabygdsfjellet!
Venabygdsfjellet is a mountain area in the municipality of Ringebu. It lies between Gudbrandsdalen and Østerdalen. It has a good snow record from December to April, a stable winter climate, and fantastic ski terrain.
The Venabygdsfjellet plateau is on the southern edge of Rondane National Park, at an altitude between 850 and 1000 metres. The terrain lies partly in the birch forest belt and partly above the tree line. The mountain peaks are 1200–1400 meters and offer superb views in all directions.
